Mark G. Ballif, M.D.
Dr. Mark Ballif is the Medical Director at TLC Laser Eye Centers in Salt Lake City and the Mount Ogden Surgical Center in Ogden, UT. An Ogden native, Dr. Ballif graduated from Weber State College and the University of Utah School of Medicine before completing residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has practiced ocular and refractive surgery in Ogden since 1987 and founded the Mount Ogden Eye Center in 1996. Dr. Ballif has a special interest in laser vision correction and has been recognized as one of the top 100 LASIK surgeons in the nation for the past several years.
Scott O. Sykes, M.D.

Dr. Scott Sykes performs LASIK procedures both at the TLC Laser Eye Center in Salt Lake City, UT as well as Mount Ogden Eye, a TLC Associate Center in Ogden UT. He has received numerous awards and honors during his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University, Johns Hopkins University, and residency training at the University of California in San Francisco. In addition to performing laser vision correction procedures, Dr. Sykes instructs other ophthalmologists at the University of Utah and lectures at conferences throughout the United States. He has particular interest in laser vision correction, corneal transplants, and cataract surgery.
Michael B. Wilcox, M.D.

A Davis County native, Dr. Wilcox graduated from Weber State University. He earned his degree from the Medical University of South Carolina where he received many scholarships, honors, and awards, including national recognition for his research in ocular lens implants. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Utah, where he now teaches surgery to resident ophthalmologists as an Adjunct Professor. Dr. Wilcox enjoys general eye care with special interest in cataract surgery and laser vision correction and has been recently recognized as one of the top 100 LASIK Surgeons in the nation. He currently performs laser vision correction procedures at both the TLC Salt Lake City Center and Mount Ogden Eye Center, a TLC Associate Center.

Dr. Barnes' goal is to position TLC Salt Lake City as the foremost provider of laser vision correction and co-management in the state of Utah. As Clinical and Executive Director, he will ensure that the quality of care delivered by our Center will be of the highest standards.
Achievements
For the past eight years Dr. Barnes has been practicing in Salt Lake City. Prior to joining TLC Salt Lake City, Dr. Barnes focused his efforts towards the treatment and management of corneal disease and refractive surgery. He has practiced in both private and corporate clinics. Dr. Barnes also worked for a local corneal surgeon where he provided pre- and postoperative care for LASIK, contact lens fits for keratoconus and other corneal pathology. In 2001, Dr. Barnes created a small RGP lens for the treatment of Keratoconus and Pellucid Marginal degeneration. In 2000, Dr. Barnes donated his time to the UTAH STARZ professional basketball team. He provided general exams as the team Optometrist.
Education
Dr. Scott Barnes, Clinical Director, TLC Salt Lake City, graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry, which is affiliated with the prestigious University of Chicago. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Colorado and received a degree in marketing and business administration. During his studies, Dr. Barnes spent three challenging years in the inner city of Chicago helping the under privileged. After Chicago, he volunteered to go to Alaska and travel from one remote fishing village to another, educating and treating the native Eskimo population. Before coming to Utah in 1998, Dr. Barnes completed his last rotation in Walla Walla,Washington, at the VA medical center.
